Mariahilf - Chappel in Birkenberg


Baroque central building. First chappel built by brothers Kranewitter 1640 (consecrated 1648)
During the pinnacle of church pilgrimage a bigger church was rebuilt by Josef Keil the older and his sons (1692-94).
External restoration 1963.
Internal restoration 1969.
1970 saw the addition of frescos by Alois Hoefer. Total restoration 1997.
Circular middle room with 3 apsides in the shape of half circles.
